UNIDROIT is an independent intergovernmental organisation and partner of PRICL. It has 65 Member States and seeks to modernise and harmonise private and in particular commercial law between States and groups of States.

The Governing Council of UNIDROIT recommended PRICL for inclusion in the UNIDROIT Work Programme (triennium 2017-2019). The General Assembly of UNIDROIT endorsed this recommendation of the Governing Council in December 2016. This cooperation continued during UNIDROIT’s Work Programme 2020-2022.
